Can You Really Make Money By Selling Poetry?

Selling poetry isn’t easy so if you are looking for a “get rich quick scheme” then you’ve come to the wrong place!

Having said that, selling your poetry isn’t as impossible as a lot of doubting Thomas’ would have us think!

As long as you are prepared to work at your craft and study the openings available then there is no reason why you can’t make at least a  little money from your poetry and there are plenty of poets who have done far more than that!

The secret is to have an extensive listing of markets at your finger tips that will PAY for you poetry and there are far more of these than you might think!

Many small press and literary magazines pay for poetry as do websites and greeting card publishers.  Unfortunately many do not so if you are not careful you can fritter away hours of productive writing time studying the guidelines of publications that subsequently prove to be non-paying markets.
