Hello, I added my name to your list yesterday - for a reason which will reveal itself in the fullness of time. Not, however, wishing to be too cryptic I want to offer a compensation, which, I hope, you will find is a real treat. A friend asked me if I had seen the programme on BBC4 about Omar Khayyam. I haven't got BBC4, but I found it on iplayer - it is well worth an hour of anybody's time. An all-round perspective, it examines the poet as scholar, astronomer and mathematician also, but focuses quite extensively on the Rubaiyat. Enjoy!
