I have a 100 page piece prepared for publication. It’s edited, proofread and ready to go but…

Although I have the cover, I don’t know what to do with the inners, those few pages front and back where there is no print, or where the copyright information is placed. Also, do I need an inner title page?

Disregarding the cover, the first page of the body of the book will be your title page, where you simply have the title at the top - or middle - wherever you find it most pleasing to the eye, and 'Published in 20.. by ... '  If you use Lulu's free package (which includes  the ISBN), then it will be published by www.lulu.com/uk . To be published by 'you' would entail having to pay up front.

The next page, the reverse of the title page, is your copyright page. Here you'll put your copyright details and disclaimers. Pick any book for an example of this, then adjust and rewrite slightly to suit your own use.

On the following page there's another title page with the author's name and any added information. With my Tea Time Morsels I added 'The House of Meredith Publishing etc. above www.lulu.com/uk

If you have a contents page or pages, that follows on after this, then the dedication page and acknowledgements, if applicable.

Remember that the first page of the first chapter must always begin on the right side, and the same goes for a prologue.

Also ensure that the very last page of the book is always blank. Why, I don't know, but I suppose it might be for aesthetic reasons. I've been told that's the way to do it, and Lulu also has it in their requirements.
