I need your vote!
I'm on the short-list for the 'Strictly Shakespeare' April prose competition. Now I have to get the most votes to win. That means YOU clicking a button. (Sorry, I don't really know what voting involves as I'm not allowed to vote for myself. I'm sure it's not too onerous.)
The site's here. Scroll down to the one called 'CO2' and just vote on it. Vote for it whether you've read it or not, whether it deserves it or not, whether you're actually conscious or merely in a semi vegetative state.
(To cast your vote, you'll have to click on the 'VOTE HERE!' tab and enter your details and the number of the piece - which is No. 5, 'CO2'. You wouldn't want to vote for any other, now would you.)
The theme was 'Divine Intervention', so of course I wrote about a Ghanaian cocoa bean smallholding. Enjoy, but above all, vote for it! Ever-so-pretty please!
- They're taking off one prose piece every two days, it seems - I've survived the first cull. Thanks to you guys!!
- I've voted today. Great story. Well done.
- Have only just come across your post, Moosey. Have read your contribution and think you have taken an original take on the subject so have said so when I voted. Good luck.
- OK, I totally didn't realise, but you're entirely right, Helen - people CAN vote once a day! What a time-waster of a competition! I wrote in to check the rules, and yes, they actually expect people to log in each day and post another vote!
Voting once is gimmicky but hey, I guess everyone needs to promote their website. Voting TEN TIMES is too much! Life is short.
In short, if anyone feels like voting, that's fantastic - if you're inclined to go back another day, that's amazing - but I wouldn't ask it of anyone. On the other hand, I don't think I'll be entering THIS competition again so I guess the best reult possible on this one time would be great! Thanks to everyone again - and especially to Helen for being more savvy than me by a long way! - Aww, thanks Scoop, Susan... How lovely. And to put such a nice comment, too. I wonder if I'll ever get to see any other comments? They're disappearing into the void at the moment, I have no idea about vote numbers or feedback until I either get kicked out or win, it seems. Your support is much appreciated!
