Holiday Coming Up
Now that we've moved, I'm providing seaside holidays for everyone else, but apart from the odd weekend and a few days dog sitting, we haven't had a proper break yet. Funds are pretty low but I found us a cottage we could afford for a week at the beginning of October. It's in the depths of the Herefordshore countryside, but it's in the grounds of a pub so hubby will be happy. At the end of each day's sightseeing, we can eat and drink next door and just stagger a few steps to our bed.
I did my WRAF trade training at Hereford and haven't been back since except for one abortive attempt when I got sick and had to return home early without seeing any of it. Hope this time we'll actually get to the city and see if I remember any of my old haunts. I do remember gong to the cathedral and the meadows by the river. And I recall being shouted at while horse riding over jumps without reins or stirrups on Wednesday afternoons, but that's about all. Well of course, it was about 50 years ago.
- How interesting. We holiday a lot in the North of Scotland and the islands and often bump into ex-service people who were posted North during the Second World War. I hope you can identify places. Katerer
