A shameless grovel
Following David's excellent advice, (thanks, David) I've just uploaded my novel onto authonomy - but not without my computer spitting the dummy several times. I did wonder whether this was the universe saying this is a bad idea - but on the other hand, it could have been saying for goodness sake stop being a wimp, woman! so I persevered. And this is where the shameless grovel comes in.
I'm not sitting here fantasising about the Editor's Desk (in any sense) but I would like honest feedback, so I'm hoping those who belong to authonomy will give me some. If you don't already belong, you can register for free, and if you don't want to register, you can still read the post and comment here.
Be warned though - if you're looking for the Great Australian Novel, this isn't it!
Thanks, everyone. The link is as follows:
- Well done for taking the leap Helen. I aint got time at the moment but will check it out later :-)
- Marilyn - in reply to the comment you posted about this blog on the one before - how could I possibly be offended? Would that I could rate beside Fay Weldon or Joanna Trollope!
Joey's name is explained in the first chapter - her mother is the relentless hippy. And you're right about swapping the order. I did realise it, but the order first mentioned is the order in which they first appear, and when it came to the longer blurb, the comment about Angeliqe fitted better at the end. So while I too tend to be anal about such things, I made a huge decision (for me) to squash the anal tendencies and go for it. - I've been sciving to read chapter one, Helen. Riveting! The characters are so believable.
