Lovely aren't they?

Molly has a spray collar on in this picture. If she barks at the 'interloper' dog next door we can either remotely beep her or give her a spray of nasty smelling stuff.
It's working too.

[More:]

We also use it for Maisie, when we're up the country park and she decides to leap a fence or two into the off limits areas.

Molly's just had another haircut by the way. She normally looks much shaggier than Maisie.

I didn't know there was a nasty smell that dogs reacted to. Other than to search it out and roll in it, if possible.

Great dogs.

Hi,
I'm really interested in this collar thing. I have a rescue dog called Pinky (an unfortunate name but he was so screwed up when we got him that I didn't like to put him through the trauma of a name change) He's driving my husband crazy as he barks every time he sees him, but he's such a wimp (Pinky not my husband)that any sort of discipline is out of the question. But I'm sure he could cope with a bad smell. Any details?

anti bark
some info on how it works
http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=626&pf_id=1239

we use the spray commander by multivet, it's for all sorts of behaviour problems and training.
http://www.netpetshop.co.uk/p-22033-multivet-spray-commander-remote-anti-bark-dog-collar-waterproof.aspx
it has 2 sprays, short or long and a beep warning, if you don't want to use the spray all the time, once it's been sprayed a few times the warning beep tends to do the trick
timing is everything on this device, it basically surprises them and breaks the concentration. SO they forget what they were doing.

we didn't pay as much as that link shows for it, we got ours for £50 odd, have a search round the net for one. single purpose Anti bark collars can be had for around £40 odd.

more here
http://www.multivetspraycollars.co.uk/multivet-spray-collars/prodList.asp?idCategory=11

here's a spray commander for £54 instead of the usual £79 or even £119
http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/erol.html#1X0
some of the other anti bark collars are automatic, they bark, it sprays or beeps. Might be better for you than the spray commander which does more but is a manual remote device

Works like a charm on our two, Nicola.
Molly barks at cars pulling up outside and the dog next door...oh and at ANY animal that has the temerity to appear on our tv screen.
Maisie won't keep out of the fishpond. With the collar on they aren't anywhere near as bad, eventually I hope they won't need it at all.

We used an automatic spray collar on one of our dogs. The spray was citronella - same stuff as you use to keep cats from availing themselves of your garden beds. Worked a treat.

Aw, the girls are gorgeous.

We have an interloper in our garden at the moment. Both my grandson and I finished the scarecrow for our vegetable garden - but my dog, Rosie, didn't actually see it until it was propped up. It was hilarious, as we wondered what she was barking at, then realised she was growling at the scarcrow. It took a while for me to convince her that it was okay and not a real interloper.

She approached it sneakily from behind, inching forward sniffing and growling with her hackles up. Then she circled it, gradually getting closer and closer as she sniffed the air and growled - just as a precaution in case the scarecrow should attack you understand. Lol.

She seems to have got used to it now - although this morning when she ran out to the garden, she suddenly remembered it was there and gave a quick woof, just in case the scarecrow got any fancy ideas.
