I want to SCREEEEEEEEEEEEM!

You could say it has been one of those days, but it's only half over so things might improve!

[More:]

Things started early with a visit by the AI man who came to inseminate 2 cows. We hadn't realised these were in season so it was a last minute phone call and a frantic roundup to get them and two others that needed blood tests for TB into the barn.

We did this without too much hassle, but getting them into the crush, (a special cage to hold them still), was another matter!

Cows tend to suffer with lose bowels when they get stressed so you can imagine what I looked liked by the time missions were accomplished!

All this made me late for a meeting with one of the Arts Festival organisors so I could only have a quick wash which, it turned out, wasn't that effective as I could see the lady from the TIC kept wrinkling her nose and shooting me puzzled looks. It was only later I realised I'd missed several streaks of turgid green stuff from the backs of my arms!

Things didn't get much better when the post arrived either. A load of entries for the song writing contest, (good), a letter from the council saying that my application for a temporary events notice had been turned down as it hadn't complied with the 10 day notice. (Disaster!) I'd actually notified them on the 24th July so they had 14 working days, but they claimed it hadn't arrived until the 30th due to the postal strike.

I'm now trying to workout what to do with our song writing workshop and song writing contest final!

I'll think about this one while I go and cart some bales. Hopefully inspiration will strike or I'll fall in the baler and then I'll be beyond caring!

HOW I envy you Sue. Those green streaks really took me back. TB testing and AI. I can smell it all.
Thanks for that.
r.

The post is so outragiously unpredictable it gets the blame for everything!

Just writing it all down sometimes makes you feel better.

Hope your day did improve, Sue!

Marilyn it did get better as I went to see one of our favourite folk/rock artists, Richard Thompson at Conkers, at out door venue, so one bright spot at least!

No Liza it definitely needed all the ees in scream! We've now heard there is an out break of foot & mouth which means I can't send the two cows I've just had blood tested to market!
