Reading the weather

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had trouble reading the weather correctly this summer. But one thing that can be said about rainy days is they do seem to encourage people to turn to books.

[More:]

The children and I have certainly been to the library more this summer holiday than last year. And I don't think we're the only ones. The library has been busy (okay, for busy you can read a little noisy!) nearly every time we've been in over the past six weeks, which is probably just as well or my boys' volume would have stuck out like a sore thumb! I also get the impression the summer Team Read scheme has gone better than staff expected (maybe even hoped?). Put it this way, instead of being held at the end of the summer, the awards ceremony is not until half-term. Personally I'm alowondering where they are going to hold it because if all the kids and their families come I don't think they'll fit into our library!

As a keen reader and writer, of course, this is all good news. Talking of which (news that is!), the local newspaper printed a lovely piece about the new edition of Remarkable Everyday (available from Legend Press). Although the story isn't online, the paper did use a smashing colour picture of me and the book cover. And you can see copies of the pictures the photographer took here.

Well done Sarah, lovely photographs! Have you put a review on Book Reviews?
