Excited!

Seven-thirty in the morning and all is quiet in the house...for once!

[More:]

Yes, the boys have just left for their seaside trip with their grandparents and I'm now making sure I'm packed, black, white and red-y to go for my husband's summer ball tonight (the theme is black and white with a twist of red).

I'm not quite sure who was more excited this morning, them or me? Though I don't really do dresses and skirts, it is nice to have the excuse to dress up once in a while and I'm looking forward to an unusually lazy day today too. Meanwhile, the boys have been talking about their 'holiday' all week and were up at 5:15am, not that that's unusual in our house!

Anyway, I've got half-formed write angle poem ideas swilling round my brain at the moment and in a little while I'm off to the dentist (just a routine check-up so no fears there) and then I think I shall find a cafe where I can idle away a little time enjoying some poetry collections (Cat Smith, John Burnside, Orbis). Hope everyone else has a good day too.:-)

Have a nice day and fantastic evening Sarah, and good luck at the dentist!

Dentist was fine. And at least it means I'll have whiter teeth than normal for tonight's do. We won't mention the massive spot that's appeared on my forehead overnight, the way they always do when you've somewhere special to go! ;-)

What with your visit to the dentist (always a morale booster as you walk out of the dentist's door after a good old scale-'n-polish) and your gorgeous gown, you'll be walking (and waltzing) on air! Have fun!

Have a great time tonight, Sarah! You will be the Belle of the Ball (I clicked on to your photograph in the notification email)!
Hope the sun comes out for your boys at the seaside, too. :-)
