Antiinflammatories!

I've finally got fed up and am resorting to trying antiinflammatories to kick the bursitis in my hip into touch once and for all. I only wish they did antinflammatories for one's mental spirits as well as the physical body, as I could certainly do with some after today...

[More:]

It has been one of the days that has left me feeling more than rather a little irritated. First, my insulin pump broke - again. As it's not long (just a few months) since my last pump broke, I am decidedly not happy. On a positive note, they have promised a new pump will be couriered to me for tomorrow, but in the meantime I will have to get by on frequent bloodtests and injections, probably including getting up every few hours through the night!

My GP visit to get antiflammatories prescribed was also rather depressing, as the doctor talked about bursitis in terms of learning to get by with it and said getting rid of it needs to be viewed as a long-term thing! Still, at least he reckons I'm okay exercising and I do think it is getting better - just not as fast as I'd like!

Anyway, today's sun did manage to take most of the edge off my health aggravations and I am looking forward to the end of the week (hoppefully new insulin pump up and running!) as it is my son's class's turn to do school assembly. Parents are invited to watch and I can't wait! Gosh, the small things that delight, as well as the small things that annoy, once one becomes a parent! ;-)

Thanks, Marc, I'm sure it will all sort out. I'm just impatient! ;-) It could be way worse, I know that really!

Anti-inflammatories and me don't see eye to eye, Sarah, but I can sympathise with your problems.

Hope everything works out soon.

Sorry to hear this, Sarah. In my experience antiinflammatories are the most useless drugs: they only benefit the pharmaceutical companies and don't help much - try lots of ice!

Thanks for all the good wishes. I'm not holding my breath with the antiinflams but I've got to the stage where I'll try almost anything! I am still ice-packing as well at least once a day and three times daily when I can, kids etc permitting. I guess I'll just have keep my fingers crossed and be glad I'm managing to get by with most things other than the gym. :-)

PS Sorry if I've missed other people's recent blog posts. Both blogall and my inbox are full of market news (I'm not complaining as it's all very useful) so I'm not managing to keep track of individual blog posts at the mo!
