Mother and babies doing fine!
We have cygnets! Walking down by the canal this morning I saw the two babies out for a swim with one of the swans. The other swan was still on her nest but it didn't look good for the last remaining egg.
Originally, there were eight eggs but it looks like only two have survived to become cygnets. By the time I had come back from swimming an hour later, it looked like she'd abandoned the last egg left. I'm guessing rats or other animals may account for the other missing eggs/cygnets. Still, that is nature.

Nice photo and report Sarah. Saw some cygnets last year but none this year yet. Saw some ducklings, which were really cute.

Yes, they are cute. We have some ducklings too and some baby moor hens (at elast I think that's what they are - black with red beaks).
