Sad?!

It must say something about my life at the moment that for the first time I've managed to score 100% on a Facebook quiz - it was about childhood toys!

[More:]

Meanwhile, on the movie compatability test I didn't manage to score more than a percentage in the sixties in terms of shared tastes with my Facebook buddies, at least partly due to the fact that I can't remember when I last went to the cinema and didn't recognise around half of the film titles!

Still, at least these results may make me popular with my boys and their friends, if not with any adult friends when it comes to conversation down the pub. (Yes, I can still remember what a pub is, even if I don't manage to escape there as often as I like!)

Oh, well here's hoping for an interesting weekend, even if it's more likely to feature kids' toys than movie blockbusters!

I don't think you're missing so much on the movie front Sarah. I've only been twice in the last year I think, and usually wait for them to come on TV.
Maybe its an age thing as well as parenthood!

I failed miserably on the toys one - and am totally incompatible with anyone on the film one - i love films, but not the ones they chose for the quiz! Hope you're feeling better...

Thanks Paola,
One of the problems I'm having with the blog at the moment is that I either want to blog about great things but then feel like I'm showing off, or I want to blog about how horrible things have been and then I feel like a grumpy miserable old fart that no one would want to read. Hence my recent blog absence.
I absolutely love your Durazno piece on resources by the way. Have you thought about writing a piece on multiple uses of one research eg the way that trip was research for your travel piece (maybe several travel pieces) but also for your blog and, more importantly, for your resources writing article? I think it's quite a skill to do that.
