I've never been trained as a photographer but it was nonetheless considered 'part of the job' at one of the offices I worked in for reporters to take photos for the paid-for weekly paper.

[More:]

Luckily for us, there were two other weekly papers in town with professional photographers, so we often managed to borrow/learn from the way they'd set up/group people for pix. Anyway, I also soon learned the easiest way of getting an acceptable/passable pic is to keep shooting till you have several you like!

Nowadays, though I get little time to indulge or experiment, I still enjoy photography, though more on the arty front. In July 2008, I was winner of the over 30 age class in the Droitwich Specsavers Opticians' Life through a Lens photography contest.

All the snaps in this section are my own. For better size/quality, you may wish to check some of them out on my website.

Where exactly can I see your photos, Sarah? I clicked on Photo Gallery and got your web page (clicking on 'web page' got error message). I only found a couple of photos on there. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry guys. This is because I put these on the website with a future publication date (you do this by altering the date and time stamp on a post). Unfortunately, notifications appear to go out to subscribers the first time a post is saved in published format (even if that is with a future publication date). Of course, they don't actually appear on the blog though till they reach that future date.
