Responsibility

The fifth poem from my poetry collection Conception.

[More:]

Responsibility

At night, my wife thinks in cuddles,
baby clothes and bedtime tales,
while I dream in pound signs
and columns of computer code.
The weight on her belly
is the world on my shoulders.
She works out the weeks left,
how many days still to go.
I calculate the cost
of keeping such a dear gift safe.

A point of view from the other half, which is a great idea and I love the poem!
