Womb Song Somonka

The second poem from my poetry collection Conception.

[More:]

Womb Song Somonka

I long to love you,
feel your weight on my tummy
talk to me in kicks,
watch the bubble grow and know
the whole world is in my arms.

I hear your caress.
The soft whisper of your womb
calls me home like sea
to shell. I am coming soon
to rest my head at your breast.

This is lovely, Sarah! I think this is just how my daughter feels at the moment, with just over five weeks to go to hold her first-born in her arms. :-)
