Beauty and brains

I've just seen a beauty advert on television for some skincare product/cream boasting of its 15% oxygen content. I wonder if one of the company's boffins forgot to tell the advertisers there's 21% oxygen in the air!

[More:]

I haven't been blogging the last few days (except for my poem a day) because I have a new addiction - brain training! We bought a DS Lite at the weekend and in two days my brain has aged from 80 (very bad!) to 20 (optimum, in theory at least!). Of course, the only problem is that one needs to keep training regularly to maintain this brain power. Now I wonder how long it will be before I get bored!?! Actually, it's great fun, lots of numerical and verbal puzzles/games. Still, it is eating into my meagre portion of spare time!

I have been dipping into the spring issue of Orbis today. I won't claim that all the poems do something for me but there are some fantastic pieces in it.

My own writing has been going rather more slowly, though it was a boost to be runner up in the writelink wet, wet, wet flash fiction contest. I had my latest assignment back from the writers bureau poetry course today, so I have lots of polishing work to do now on a couple of pieces. Hopefully, all that brain training will prove itself worthwhile!!!

I love those kinds of ad's Sarah. They're almost as laughable as Fawlty Towers.

Yes, the pseudo-science they use in some beauty ads is incredible - and the worst thing is I want to believe it!

And don't forget you breathe out 4.5% co2 - so stand near a tree!

Hey Sarah, that brain training sounds like hard work. They don't do a cerebral equivalent of those BodyTek muscle toners do they? The sort where you just attach electrodes to your head, switch on, and get clever?

I'd like one of those ;-)

If only, Lez! No I have to do things like sudoku and number and word games. But that's ok cos I actually enjoy that kind of thing.
