Back to reality!

Why do holidays always have to end with unpacking, five loads of washing, getting up to speed with hundreds (600 in a week!) of emails and opening piles of post? Still, I have come up with the perfect solution...though my husband disagrees!

[More:]

Yes, you've guessed it, my suggestion that we just not bother coming back but stay another week didn't go down well. Okay, so I live in cloud cuckooland, but personally I prefer it there (!?!). Anyway, here I am after a week of sun in (of all places) Wales (and Chester)!

We've had a fantastic time. The boys loved staying a few nights in a hotel in Chester and Presthaven caravan park is also a definite favourite. I too enjoyed the beach, Rhyl SeAquarium and visiting Chester Zoo. The baby orangutan and elephants almost had me in tears and I managed to get a snap of one of the lions only about one metre away. (Actually, it was also slightly scary the way he homed in on me with my camera and came over to investigate!)

The only disappointment of the holiday is that the pile of holiday reading I took away is still a pile. Predictably, the boys ended up staying later than usual so my evening reading never really happened. Still, it was nice to be able to relax and enjoy being with them wihout worrying about anything else - for a week at least!;)

Ah well, you'll have great memories, anyhow and being home is good - isn't it? Someone should have invented cheap, disposable clothes for small boys, long ago!

When you said 'anyway, here I am' and the picture of that majestic lion was staring at me from the screen, I did wonder whether you had morphed during your 'hols'. :-) Lovely photos, by the way!
I'm really pleased that you had such a good holiday, and sympathise with the work load on your return. I had a week in Cornwall in May and popped into an Internet café to deal with the e-mails halfway through, so that it wouldn't be so many on my return. My books remained unread, too - although I kept a bit of a journal going - updating after my grandson had gone to bed.
The sun is still shining in Wales, so another week might have been just right! :-) (Except we missed you!)

Good to see you back, Sarah and glad you had a good time. The photgraphs are great - there's got to be a few funny captions to accompany them!

Welcome back, Sarah! Just go wisely wild with that 'Delete' button on your e-mails!

Thank you all. It's great to have such a lovely welcome back.
Yes, Paola, I have been following your advice and deleting madly!
Marit, it's funny you should say that, as I was wondering about using the lion photo for my avatar! Far more attractive than the real thing!
