Unlucky Omen?

I think I may have jinxed myself with my post earlier this week entitled Lucky Omen? Fingers crossed! In it, I spoke about things not boding well for my entering the writelink Battle of the Bards competition today. I wasn't laughing at the irony then this morning, when I found out the theme of this year's contest.

[More:]

Yes, you've got it, the theme was Omens!

Of course, I'm not superstitious at all, but this still left me feeling worried! My first thought was, "help, Help, HELP!" However, tempting though it was to give up, and despite initial lack of inspiration, I have been busy all day (round looking after the kids and packing for our holiday!)working on an entry to blow the judge away (I dream!).

Despite a certain feeling of doom and panic and the loud protests of my very tired and overworked brain, it has been good fun. I even eventually managed to conjure up two poems, one serious entry and a more playful poem that I will be posting on the blogs later.

Now all I need to do is sit back, enjoy my holiday from tomorrow and hope the theme will prove a good omen for me!

Well, if the initial omen wasn't an omen, I'll be most surprised! Sounds like a good omen to me though, Sarah. Good luck with your entry!
And happy holidays! :-)

Thanks Marit,
We are surrounded by piles of stuff to put in the car. That's the problem with holidays - the going and the coming back!
