The final straw!
I am seriously going on strike! No, seriously, I mean it; my pay's awful and the working conditions atrocious!
Yes, just one day into the official holiday period (ie no more planned toddler activities!) and I can't take it. Like I said, the pay's awful ie non-existent. And the working conditions are atrocious. The weather means we've spent most of the day cooped up inside, as we have done for weeks now. It also takes the boys just five minutes to turn the whole house into a tip. (They are well practised at it now!)
I got so fed up of the two of them arguing today that I finally resorted to taking them out for a half-hour drive to get themn to fall asleep. Fortunately, they did. And I then fell sleep on the sofa myself. (Now, before you class that as a perk of the job, remember I wouldn't need the extra sleep if it wasn't for the job!)
Anyway, I've laid down my terms very firmly...only trouble is I don't think the boys were listening!

We're just now in the middle of stripping our living room walls...Everything's in a mess and I'm looking after Hannah and Isabella tomorrow morning. Ah well, on the bright side, at least they can't make more of a mess than we're already in.
Hope you have fun tomorrow and with the decorating.
Got my grandson tomorrow and somehow I don't think he'll be sleeping! Help!
Holidays? What holidays? I was quietly working on an article this morning, all on my lonesome - and then, within a few minutes, we were eleven in my livingroom - four of them boisterous little boys (my grandsons), leaping all over the place. 24/7? You have my sympathy. We'll just have to hope for better weather ahead so that the little tykes can safely play in the gardens while we watch them, notebooks in hand... Sigh - it may still happen...
r.
Yes, you are spot on - see, it shows how tired I am! I'll change it now! LOL
And when the sun shines, even better. My parents loved holidaying here (coming over from Norway) and we had good weather almost every time they were here. But when the rain starts it doesn't seem to know when enough is enough. But you know, famous last words - we'll have a drought before long!
Have a lovely holiday! I hope there will be plenty to do for the boys, so that you can enjoy it, too!
My daughter has two boys ---
A couple of years ago he went to Butlins and said it was the best holiday they ever had. Plenty for the two youngest to enjoy and the two older children had the time of their lives. Not one moan or groan from them the whole time.
Last year they tried a caravan because he likes to chill out on the sand, but he and Louise his wife came back frazzled. This year it's Butlins again...
We are Butlins fans for the kids, we've done Minehead several times. But we always spend a lot once we get there. I'd like to try center parcs, but it isn't cheap!
