The colour of my skin

A few people have commented on my virtual skin ie my blog template so I thought I'd describe what I think the choice says about me - or not!

[More:]

I am an 'all or nothing' type of person so I love contrasts, like the bright pink against the dark black. For me, my skin captures all sides of my life: the cityscape - manmade, sturdy, genderless/male, buzzing,energised/bustling, living/life - and the beautiful flower - natural, delicate, feminine, peaceful, still, being. Then, of course, there's the constant fluidity of the rippling water, the way it shimmers in the light and can distort what one thinks one's seeing!

Talking of contrasts, opposites and duality, I was bitterly disappointed by last night's episode of Jekyll on BBC 1. Until now it has been a fantastic (pacy and gripping) drama. The continuous flashbacks last night might have been useful to someone who's missed earlier episodes, but did nothing for me except slow the pace and interupt the action. In fact, I don't think I learnt anything significantly new in last night's episode!

On a lighter note, another joke my four-year-old has picked up:
Question: What did the spider wear to teh wedding?
Answer: A webbing dress!
Predictable but brilliant!

I love your skin, Sarah as you know. Er, having never met you I will rephrase that - I love your choice of blog skin and did comment on it when it first appeared in blogoshere.

This is not denying however, that I do indeed agree with your guru-type description as to why you chose it and believe it is a good match given the overall choice available at the time.

On the other hand, my choice seems a bit of a mismatch with respect to choice in that I had to make it up as I went along. Taglines for example were okay but I did wonder as to the Ms Marilyn's Blog. It's sort of grown on me now though and I like it.

However, the landscape I'm not too sure about as it does, at times, appear a bit dark. This is not to say there are occasions when it suits my underlying sinister mood, which some may think is more the pity but basically I can't help it.

Since I consider you to be a guru blog psychologist, landscape blog artist, or blog counsellor, is there any way in which you can describe why I chose the landscape I did?

Against all odds try to be kind you never know where it might lead.

Ah, Marilyn, you're fab!
I think I might have to do some meditation and chanting to summon up my guru strength before commenting on your skin!:p Meanwhile, why don't you take a look at my latest entry to Miss Hale's Diary. (It's all meant to be a bit of fun, so if it does offend in any way, please tell me!)

No it doesn't offend at all - it's great - only why do I feel you haven't written it?

Just realised what I've written. I think an early night is called for. I didn't mean you can't have written the Miss Hale's diary entry becasue I said it's great- what I meant is - oh you know what I mean!

Hi M,
Having finally got my guru strength up, I went to have a close look at your skin (!). It's changed more than Michael Jackson's! What can I say apart from what splendid taste you have! I couldn't have chosen better myself!

Lol! Cor! I've just realised that readers can change the skin at any time without much fuss to suit their needs. Course it helps me to cross dress and change as much as I like now, too. Brill!

Hopefully if as many bloggers as possible allow readers to do this, then those people who currently have visual/reading difficulties with the current writelink green on green will be able to choose a skin for other people's blogs which they can read more easily.
