A walk in the park?
Of course, I know I shouldn't be writing this.
Instead, I should be getting on with some real writing, or reading. But it has been a long day. A nice one, but long.
It started with a walk in the park with friends, or, to be more precise, a wet walk in the park with friends, thunder and torrential downpour. We had a quick stop at MacDonalds for lunch, naughty but easy! My elder son then decided to invite himself and his brother and me on a trip to the DIY store with my in-laws and for tea and a bouncy castle. Back home, the list of things I should be doing is endless...as always!
I had my first writers' bureau poetry assignment back yesterday. I have to say I am pleased, both with the tutor I've been given and the feedback. It was good, encouraging but with some tips and advice I can work on.
Talking of tutors, well, okay, teachers, I can't believe Jacqui Smith is now home secretary! She used to teach at my old school, not that I ever did business studies. Still, a small claim to some sort of fame!![]()
Anyway, time to stop procrastinating. I've been reading Writing Competitions the way to win by Iain Pattison and Alison Chisholm. I've nearly finished and it has made me rethink my whole approach to publication and competitions, though I haven't come to any final conclusion yet! So let's see what the last thirty pages bring...
