Stranger than fiction!

I'm in a strange kind of mood at the moment. Yes, even stranger than usual!:-/

[More:]

I seem to have gone from having nothing to read (boredom disaster!) to too much to read(decisiveness disaster)! Luckily, they are all poetry anthologies/magazines and how to books, so far easier to dip in and out of than fiction. But even so, I seem to be spending more time deciding what to read next, than actually reading. (Okay, a minor exaggeration but only just!)

The short stories I've been writing have also been going wrong. The one just isn't as good on paper as I thought it would be in my head! The other's storyline won't work with the length requirements of its intended market. I guess I'm going to be doing a lot of rethinking and reworking this weekend!

At least with this weather you won't be tempted to go outside. Rainy weather cuts the distractions down for me...Or do your children get frustrated when it's wet and go absolutely mad indoors?
Mine used to.

Yes, stir crazy! We took them to soft play and swimming. That just about did the trick! With luck I might get to sit down and read tonight...fatal last words, of course!

Sarah,

It must be the weather...I have the same problem. My story sounded so good in my head, however now its half written its pants!!!

I've lost the will to live over it but feel I should try a rescue attempt at the very least.

Good luck, I'm sure it's much better than you think. My first writers' bureau poetry assignment arrived back yesterday so I've decided to take time out from my short stories for a while!
