Brain building?

Our house has become a building site - but with surprisingly little mess!

[More:]

Oxymoron though the phrase 'tidy building site' might seem, it is genuinely true. We are having all the guttering, fascias and soffits (don't ask, cos I don't know what they are!)replaced. And the only sign left at the end of the day to show that this is being done is one or two pieces of old guttering on the lawn. And we may even have some freecyclers to take that!

I've been trying to get round to blogging all day, even made several false starts. I don't know if it's the incredibly changeable weather or just because I've been so busy the last few days, but my mind is as restless as the butterflies in Charlie and Lola's gallery on the cbeebies website at the moment. (This is my elder son's favourite webiste, providing what I call lazy art ie decorated butterflies done by the touch of the mouse where it doesn't matter how much he colours over the lines or that he can't cut along a set line!)

In theory, I should get some time to myself tomorrow to read and get on with some short story writing. In practice though, I have my elder son's summer concert at school and a stack of thank you letters to write for my younger son. I can't wait till they are able to write their own birthday thank yous - though I suspect getting them to do so may actually be more hassle than doing it myself! On which note...
