I have been bugged all weekend - quite literally after being told my son needed an 'ugly bug' costume for his school summer concert. The first word that came into my mind was "Help!" - Okay, I admit it, the word that actually sprang to mind was too rude to say, let alone write.

The concert is only two weeks away and the best advice his teachers could give me was "Try Asda". So we duly drove all the way over to our nearest store (25 mins away), only to find - surprise, surprise - no bug costumes!

In the end I bought him a cheap green T-shirt and shorts, then stuck some green and yellow spots on and used green and yellow pipe cleaners to make his antennae. (A caterpillar, before you ask!) Though I am not convinced about their chances of getting him into that, or any other costume!

Of course, this all means that my younger son's flatpack tallboy is still...flatpack, and likely to stay that way for a while! Still, excellent bbq weather and we have spent a lot of the weekend outside. Hence the absence of blog - that, and the fact that my brain doesn't work in this heat. At least that's my excuse.
