Clogged up and blogged out!

I'm beginning to wonder if all my blogs could be aptly renamed What a day! or Another one of those days!

[More:]

I have been clogged up with a cold for several days now and am finding inspiration for both my blog and other creative writing just as clogged up. It's not just the initial ideas which seem to be lacking but the clarity of thought to think anything further than the first letter of a title!

Still, at least the sun is shining, though that too would come at a time when I am stranded indoors due to a number of expected deliveries that need to be signed for!

These are not the only deliveries we are awaiting. Another, more important delivery is imminent, as my sister seems to have had her first contractions during last night (san Francisco time). It is her first baby and I am very excited, though upset that I will probably not get to hold my nephew for some months, as she lives on the other side of the world. Transatlantic travel, mobile phone texts and internet telephone systems may have done a lot to make the world seem a smaller place but they can't completely replace or destroy geographical, physical restrictions.

Anyway, one thing's for sure, whatever happens, we're sure to get the news here in the middle of our night!
