New Knee - Next Month, Maybe...

Author: mater (add to friends)

I had an evening appointment (perhaps they're trying to shorten waiting lists) with my consultant/surgeon today

[More:]

and he has promised to do his best to schedule my second knee replacement in the next few weeks, during July. Fingers crossed! The sooner it's done, the sooner I can move forward - in more ways than one. :D

But - it won't upset the launch of 'The Pages'! Believe it or not, I was prepared for this eventuality - and if anything we're a little ahead with the work (our first proper editorial meeting today).
However, if you were intending to submit anything for the first issue, the deadline is 2 July. If for any reason we need to extend this, I'll post the details.

Do hope it happens, and gives you that new lease of life, Marit.

And I'll submit something soon.

Good luck with the op and "The Pages."

All the best from me as well in regards to your op, and the 'Pages'. Not had time to check that out yet, but I will. Being away in the UK (yes, I know, but that's away for me!) & then catching up with everything on my return has prevented me from either blogging myself, or reading those of Friends. Bear with me. It will happen.

Thank you for your good wishes everyone!

I was wondering whether to pack my hospital bag ready, but thought better of it. I think I'd rather not tempt fate - and 'throw' it all in at the last minute instead. ;-)

I'm a great one for doing things at the last minute, although as far as The Pages are concerned, everything is being updated and done as the work comes in (there's always an exception to the rule). Pity the same can't be said of my manuscript. The competition deadline is next Wednesday. If I send it on Monday, first class, it might just get there. It should get there. IT WILL GET THERE! How's that for being positive?
So why didn't I send it today? Besides our youngest having the use of the car these days (and not being here), I'm still printing it out! 275 pages done, another 350 or so to go. I've got to tweak the last chapter, too - and write a synopsis... Good thing that I work well under pressure.
