Tes, I like the poem too - did you see Ian Hislpos 'Changing of the Bard?' Funny and informative.

Hello Betty - no, unfortunately I didn't see that - I'm rather hoping that they create a DVD with the whole of the BBC poetry recordings on it, then I can watch all that I've missed when I'm able.

The only one I did manage to watch was: Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold - can't remember the poet that presented and reviewed the poem, but he was very good and I enjoyed watching and listening to him very much. I had to smile when discovering that Matthew Arnold was on his honeymoon when he wrote the poem.

Just been reading: Answering Back , which was edited by Carol Ann Duffy. Thoroughly enjoyed it and as ever very inspirational. The anthology is just the sort of thing I enjoy - with its past meet present sort of style.

Carol Ann Duffy had invited the best of comtemporary poets to select a poem written by past poets, which they would like to answer in some way. Around fifty of the poets responded and there are some cracking responses.

Good poem, Marilyn. I like Duffy. Not so full of herself as some.

Hi Trevor - yes, politics seems to be on everyone’s lips at the moment. It was interesting reading the reviews relating to the poem as well.

Did you know that Aimée Ann Duffy (the singer of Mercy) has the same middle and surname as Carol Ann Duffy?
