Trying Again

A little while back I made myself a promise to blog more often. I truly meant it as well, but a glitch in my life said no.

[More:]

I sorted out the glitch and then my computer crashed. I didn’t even get the blue screen of death. Oh no, my computer went straight to a black screen with a single line of white text in the top left corner. Using my husband’s laptop to search online, I discovered that line of text meant, in effect, too bad, goodbye computer!

Fortunately, my daughter was staying with me at the time and she has fewer fears than I when it comes to the mysteries of dos. 88|

She retrieved my files from the black screen (I have no idea how) and saved them to her ipod. It took nearly two weeks to rescue the actual computer. I don’t know what she and her boyfriend did, but the computer now works again.

This time I’m making no promises (the gods of computers hate me) but I’m going to try again at this blogging lark.

Hmm, that most probably means I’ll be back again in about three months. :))

Tough Lorraine! I think we've all been there! Why not post all your important stuff to your blog and mark it Private. This will mean only you can see it and you'll have an independent copy stored away from your computer.

Good idea, Sue. I hadn't thought of using the blog as storage.

I use my various email addresses as storage, but the blogs are always handy when you need to retrieve someting you've lost.

It's always good to see you, Lo, no matter how rare your visits.

Been there, done that, as the saying goes, so can completely relate to the frustration you must have felt. Hope all goes well from here on.
Must remember that tip about storing stuff on my blog too. Useful to know.
