'The Old Ways Never Die' - Now accessable via Joanne Harris's website!!!
This past two weeks have been full of suprises! Not only have I had a picture of my dog feature in the local newspaper and be described as a 'favourite', not only has my Valkyrie short story 'The Old Ways Never Die' been honourable mentioned and described as 'great' by Joanne Harris herself on her website for her Fan Fic competition, not only did I get a suprise call from a local college I applied to work for ages and ages ago rung up and asked if I'm still interested and would I like an interview because the person they did hire was a 'time waster' not only all that!
But then Joanne Harris does me even more honour by providing a link to my short story on her Fan Fic page on her website!
Now even more people who are also adoring fans of Joanne's Runemarks can read my work as well and hopefully enjoy it. Perhaps one of them might be an agent and spot my little spark of talent
Who knows? A lot of little good things have been happening recently hehehehe

I've just posted my entry for the Thyme comp but don't know where it has gone. I followed the trail from Arena where I could see the others and then met a posting space that asked x3 for genre but had no option for poetry. Posted anyway but it hasn't apeared with the others. Why oh why do I get it all wrong?

Rossica prize
I got a nice surprise the other day. My friend Ignat Avsey [he whose books I proof-read] added a link to an email which at first I didn't follow as I was up to my neck in work. When i did get there, I found that The Insulted and Injured, a less well known novel by Dostoevsky translated by Ignat is short listed for the Rossica Prize.
I have all my fingers and toes crossed for him.

Here I am at last
I was here a long time ago, now I am back, hopefully much improved. Life has moved on, I now have three children, a published novel and am still struggling to fit in as much as I can in to too little time!
I have been working hard behind the scenes, Facebooking, twittering and trying to flog as many copies of the book as I can to unsuspecting members of the public. Most of all though I have been getting to grips with my full time job, Mummy!
The children all have better social lives than me and the eldest isn't even five, they get invited to lots of parties, attend football or dancing classes and have play dates. all of which means I have to have a calendar in the kitchen with enough slots for everyone just to follow our progress through the week!
My most recent adventure was to accident and emergency thanks to my two year old, a finger and a fire engine! In his excitement to point out the wailing fire engine my little boy managed to jab his finger directly into my eye! This resulted in an eye watering scratch to my cornea which at last, twelve days later seems to be letting me work normally.
Hope to chat to some of you soon.

GHOST STORIES FROM THE MASTER
This Christmas, Robert Lloyd Parry brings a seasonal shiver to London, with his retelling of two of the greatest tales by M R James, the master of the English ghost story.

Free publishing in time for Christmas
Hi, sorry I haven't been blogging lately, but I had trouble logging in and have been very busy with my writing, day-job, and life in general.
I've been getting my greenygrey blog ready for publishing it as an ebook, and then saw that Arts Council funded youwriteon is offering to publish 5000 books in time for Xmas. They have accepted my blog-book, so I now plan on publishing it as an ebook, and then hopefully there will be a book of it out for Christmas. Quite good for something that set out to be a bit of fun and way of learning the North American regions.
There are still places available, so if you have something to publish for Xmas, it's at:

New Site Launch
This is just a short post to let you know about the launch of my new blog, Quitters Cooperative. It’s only one day old but I’m hoping that some folk here may find something of interest on its pages.
