A Royal Stepmother

Author: jak (add to friends)

Hatshepsut (pronounced a bit like Hat-cheap-suit) was a female who took on the role of Pharaoh after her husband died and her stepson, Thutmose III, was too young to rule. It was important to look the part, so she wore a false beard and flattened her breasts as much as possible.

I tried to post this yesterday with pictures but I gave up because, without my Photoshop Elements, I can’t get my my pics to work on this site, so you need to look on my blogspot blog if you want to see her statue and her memorial temple.

WL doesn’t allow me to link to it so here’s the url for you to copy and paste if necessary: http://jakill-jeansmusings.blogspot.com/2009/05/female-pharaoh.html.

If you have MS Office, Jak, (word, excel etc) and depending which version you have, there's a program that will resize, crop and edit photo's, buit in. Very easy to use too.

Photos brought back memories for me. Too bad photography wasn't invented then as it would be interesting to see how she looked in real life with a beard!

After getting a sneak peek thanks to Nicky Hilton, we've finally landed images of the UGG & Jimmy Choo limited-edition boot collection.

A sample set of the boots will tour UGG and Jimmy Choo boutiques beginning Sept. 22 and be available for pre-order for a period of 24 hours; the ugg classic boots are also available for pre-order online.
