Haiku Felicitations

Author: jak (add to friends)

Happy Easter everyone.

Here is my March haiku diary. If the start is too tedious, Egypt begins on the 18th. Feel free to skip down. A few days I just had to write more than one.

Sun 1 Mar

Saw some rail line art.
Coins and cans were thoughtfully
displayed on the track.

[More:]

Mon 2 Mar

Research a Chinese
island full of pianos.
It is Gulangyu.

Tues 3 Mar

I reply to a
CC request and get an
immediate sale.

Wed 4 Mar

Received a task from
blogsvertise for the first time.
My oven blew up!

Thur 5 Mar

Book an engineer
visit, but will need patience.
Work for blogsvertise.

Fri 6 Mar

Visit library
and Waitrose, then up the road
to get my hair cut.

Sat 7 Mar

Family visit.
Four generations were here.
Got the oven fixed.

Sun 8 Mar

Submit Gulangyu
piece for CC customer.
Write for Writelink blog.

Mon 9 Mar

Fraudulent sales at
CC. How disappointing.
But work continues.

Tues 10 Mar

Start holiday lists
and do lots of admin work.
Counting down the days.

Wed 11 Mar

Tidy the garden.
The difference a day makes
is quite staggering.

Thur 12 Mar

Clothing decluttered.
Now I can sort the packing
while dealing with spam.

Fri 13 Mar

House viewing at ten
but no interest is shown
so I go shopping.

Sat 14 Mar

Think of Madeira
to write a hotel review.
Sun shines out today.

Sun 15 Mar

White blossoms bloom and,
above our ring road verges,
frothy branches sway.

Mon 16 Mar

Write a review of
the magnificent Grand at
Torquay for CC.

Tues 17 Mar

Photoshoot of the
daffodils in my garden.
We will miss their best,

Wed 18 Mar

Luxor is hot and
so noisy. Why did we choose
to holiday here?

Thur 19 Mar

We walk out from the
oasis of our hotel,
swim above the Nile.

Fri 20 Mar

Early start for the
West Bank - those temples and tombs.
Wonderful Luxor.

Sat 21 Mar

We visit Luxor’s
soaring city temple and
the sphinx avenue.

Sun 22 Mar

On George’s birthday
cruise to Dendara, I buy
Egyptian textiles.

Mon 23 Mar

Restaurant haven
means we can eat away from
the sudden sandstorm.

Tues 24 Mar

Karnak is biggest
of all the temples, and where
pharoah gods once ruled.

Wed 25 Mar

White birds sitting on
the Nile float upstream till the
flock lifts to fly back.

Shopping for children,
find expensive silver bangle
cheaper than UK.

Thur 26 Mar

Meet Egyptian kids
at Medinat Habu – most
colourful temple.

Fri 27 Mar

Tiny, little birds,
yellow breast and black on top,
turquoise shoulder flash.

Karnak Sound and Light
Show, at the dark temple, is
Our entertainment.

Hieroglyphed walls make
screen for projections. Words
bounce off great columns.

Sat 28 Mar

Take captain Memo’s
boat to Banana Island.
See the plantation.

Cruise ships manoeuvre
awkwardly across the Nile.
One goes on its way.

Sun 29 Mar

Tented enclosure
is where we eat Egyptian
food beside the Nile.

Mon 30 Mar

Riding on camels
alongside the river, through
wheat and sugar cane.

Tues 31 Mar

Have a final dip
in the hotel’s swimming pool
Tomorrow we leave.

Happy Easter to you too!
What a busy month you've had (again!). I love your haiku diary. So much so that I'm trying to keep my own. I've never been much good with keeping diaries though...

And it sounds as though you've collected lots of inspiration for future writing.
