Whether you are an accomplished blogger or a complete newbie, you’ll find this tutorial will help get your Writelink blog up and running in next to no time!
I appreciate that for many, blogging is a very new concept and the amount of control you have over your own blog is probably something that is quite new to you and perhaps a little confusing.
If you need help please follow these guidelines before asking for direct help from individuals which ties up valuable writing time.
1. David Robinson has written a very good article under the writing article Resources on the main site which you should download and keep with you until you become familiar with your blog.
2. This help blog also contains some good advice so refer to it and also subscribe to it so that you are made aware of when new posts are added.
3. If your query is not answered by consulting the above, POST it in the Help blog as a new post. The more Help blog is used, the more useful it becomes for newer members.
WHAT YOU MUST NOT DO!
1. Do not email our site programmer! He is paid to develop the site, not spend time answering user queries.
2. Do not email individual members with queries unless they offer to help off site! ![]()
I read Mo's post on the forums and I know that you're aware of the current problems, but here are my observations.
The main problem appears to be posting under the "expert" tab. on "Simple" I have all my categories and options. On "expert", I have none of them, and it will not permit posts at all.
I have cleared both cache memory and all coookies, but it's made no difference.
I don't know if anyone's pointed it out, Wynn, but the reason your last post doesn't appear on your blog is because it's not on your blog. It's on Linkblog.
I've been posting to Linkblog for fun these last few days, but luckily, I've spotted it every time and shifted it.![]()
Sue, if you read this, we could do with backoffice defaulting to the personal blog if that's possible.
I've just logged in to find that the formatting is all askew in my blog. Not exactly a new feature - but an unwanted one!
Does anyone know whether non-Writelink friends who subscribe to our blogs can see our protected posts?
Sorry, I can't remember how to do this. I would like a link to www.expatwomen.com on my blog. Could someone gently talk me through it, step by easy step? Thanks.
I tried to comment on the Rat Hall post but got an error message saying that the server was not found when I tried to submit it.
For admin: I think we need extra categories in the help section. Nothing was really suitable for this.
For the author: this was my comment:
There seem to be a few problems at the moment. Nothing too serious but I thought I'd make sure admin is aware.
- I can't view the full blogs of some of the new members.
- text in some blogs is overlaying pictures and other elements and is difficult to read.
- when posting up two photos recently, one came out enormous, nothing like its original size, and the other could only be seen via a link.
Firstly, Song Attacher isn’t just for music and songs! It is for any audio file so use it for your poems and story extracts.
This is a message for sunpenny and admin. Her post is listing in blog all but when I click on the links to both read full post and leave a comment I'm getting the not found message. (message 404).
(Sunpenny, if you see this before admin have sorted it, then you should probably email/message Sue about the problem.)
This blog contains short articles on how to use the Writelink Bloggs.
