I am a fly fisher and my favourite fish is the grayling. I bring fish and fishing into my writing as often as my public will allow.

Brilliant idea

Author: grayling (add to friends)

I have had this marvellous money making idea:

I invite you round for dinner. When you arrive you will be greeted with all of the customary politeness. I then ask you for £20, hand over all the ingredients for the meal, show you to the kitchen and leave you to cook the dinner. The ingredients will have been bought for £12 earlier in the day at TESCO.
So, I have my meal cooked and presented on the table, enjoy a delicious meal with ‘friends’ and come out with 8 quid in my pocket: simple and profitable.

I see you are not convinced.

[More:]

Let me tell you where I got the idea and then perhaps you will be.

We visited the local farm shop; at the local farm. There are hens, rabbits, llamas and other exotic creatures in paddocks and pens all around the site. At the door of the shop is a little stand with containers of small grey pellets. A label on the stand makes the request – ‘Would you like to feed the hens? 80p’
So you see: same principal. The farm buys the food, sells it to the visitors at a profit, who then feed the residents. Brilliant! They have a further advantage. After they have had their stock fed at no cost whatsoever; a profit even, they then sell the products, eggs and roasting fowls, for an even greater profit.

Now Olga is a wonderful ‘nest builder’ but she doesn’t lay eggs so my idea stops at the first profit. We may also quickly run out of ‘friends’.
