External Competitions

There is a short story competition, on any theme, no more than 3,500 words which will be judged by Joanne Harris, best selling author of Chocolate and The Lollipop Shoes.

There is a poetry competiton, again on any theme and no more than 40 lines, which will be judged by local poet Simon Armitage who has won countless poetry awards.

The deadline is 31st November 2008 and there will be three cash prizes for the three winners in each section plus the winners and all runners up will be published alongside some specially commissioned work by famous authors and poets. So there really is no way you can loose in this competition because either way you may get your work and name in print and sold to millions in Borders and Waterstones next year!
