Christmas Chillers Ghost Story Competition

Grist Anthology Competition - Closing date 31/11/08
There is a short story competition, on any theme, no more than 3,500 words which will be judged by Joanne Harris, best selling author of Chocolate and The Lollipop Shoes.
There is a poetry competiton, again on any theme and no more than 40 lines, which will be judged by local poet Simon Armitage who has won countless poetry awards.

International Aeon Award 2008 Contest. Closing date 30/11/08
Albedo One (Ireland’s magazine of speculative fiction - www.albedo1.com) has launched the Aeon Award 2008 short fiction contest. Submissions may be up to 8000 words in any speculative fiction genre. Grand prize is 1000 euro and publication in Albedo One. 2nd & 3rd prizes are 200 & 100 euro, plus publication.
