Poetry Competition
Poetry Competition begins February 1, 2009
This looks like fun:
THE STIRRED POeT competition will run for six rounds, beginning February 1. There is a $50 CDN (£30 or $50 US) prize for the poet who receives the most votes over six weeks. In the case of a tie, winners will split the prize money.
Cost to enter is $5 CDN (£3 or $5 US), payable via PayPal to donnagee (at) rogers.com
All entrants must become members of TWI if they have not done so already. Deadline for payment of entry fees is midnight EST January 31.
This looks like fun: I can't remember how to post links, so you'll have to copy and paste:
One prompt and/or theme will be posted at the begining of each round and must be used for that round's entry. Poets will then have until the following Saturday to PM their entry to Flirtybee. There is a limit of 40 lines per poem (blank lines do not count).
Each round, poems will be posted on the forum anonymously after each round closes. Voting is to be done via PM to Flirtybee who will post the results up a week later. Any participant who fails to vote in one or any of the rounds will be disqualified from the competition (Flirtybee CAN be a tyrant!).
Final results will be available on March 21. Publication of a book containing the topmost 30 voted poems will occur in April 2009. In the event of ties, TRED editors will use their discretion before publication.
