PAOLA FORNARI C.V.

Writer, EFL teacher, trainer, and translator, I was born in Tanzania, have lived in a dozen countries over three continents, and describe myself as an ‘expatriate sin patria’. Wherever I go I make it my business to learn the language, get to know the local people and customs, and discover the country’s remotest corners. I became interested in writing in mid-2006, did a short Open University creative writing course and a Writers’ Bureau course, and began getting articles published in 2007.

Impressive indeed, Paola. Not so long ago you were bemoaning the fact that you didn't think you had enough material for a writing CV.

Hola Paola! Good evening. Glad to have caught up with you again here - and your story. So you are not much longer in Uruguay? I hope we stay in touch. You have moved around a great deal and you have such a wonderful outlook in really getting to know the people and places you go to. I think you asked about markets for your writing (I gather, on your experiences in this "apendice del Mundo", Southern South America: There should be, you must have found as well that most people are surprised that anything goes on at all down here - apart from soccer stars, coups d'etat (or zany presidents nowadays, a change at least), tango and asado!.

By the way, I wonder how many Argentines know that Uruguay now holds the World Parrilla Record - and will they take it quietly? I think not ... must keep an eye out for that!.

Hata pronto! Keep well.

Peter.

Hi Paola,

To answer your question: My native language is Czech (I was born in Prague). I am really impressed with the scope of languages you command.
Thank you for your comments on my story.

With kindest regards,

PA
