Northern adventure

On Monday I will be driving 350 miles north, for a fun adventure. A wonderful Uruguayan lady who is a superb cook will be accompanying me. We will be visiting two places: Bio Uruguay, an NGO promoting organic food, and the Posada del Lunarejo, a lovely inn in the middle of nowhere (which I have written about several times here). Why?

[More:]

Both these places are interested in improving their cooking skills, and in promoting healthy eating. They are beginning to get visitors from overseas, some of whom are vegetarian. When I have visited, I found, in both places, loads of good will but very little culinary imagination, and I proposed to go and run some practical workshops. And now the time is right!

If any of you have any ideas on articles (and markets) that could come out of this, please let me know!

Have a great time, Paola. I can't think of any specific markets offhand, but would imagine any health food or vegetarian magazine would be interested.

Have a wonderful time and show them how its done! We could do with you over here.As for magazines, what about Good Housekeeping or Woman and Home - in addition to health food and vegetarian magazines. Or 'Olive'? Good luck!

Sounds wonderful, Paola. Not sure of markets, but here in the UK organic food is very much in the media fore-front these days. Celebrity chefs have been making doing their bit and very successfully.

The big supermarkets often have freebie magazines (some you have to pay for) that ask for recipes. If you could get hold of some of those to get an overall view of what is needed.

It sounds like you should have a fantastic time paola and a fantastic opportunity. I think the others have covered markets well. I suppose there is also the travel/tourist angle and maybe some material there for running one's first workshop type thing, though I can't suggest any specifics mags. But there must be mags on training/workshop etc issues.
