Jacarandas again

The jacarandas last only about a month, and they are nearly over - the streets are carpeted in mauve blossom, and the air is heady with their scent.

When I was a child at boarding school in Nairobi, we used to decorate the avenue between our school and the boys' school with intricate religious designs on the feast of Corpus Christi...it all came back to me today...

Looks fabulous, especially against that blue sky.

Another great pic; and now I know what jacarandas look like. Did I glimpse another article in the making?

Beautiful. It's a amzing what difference trees can make to even the blandest landscape.
We have just one tree in our road (as opposed to individual gardens). It isn't as pretty as your jacarandas but it is tall and has lots of outsretched thin branches that have been dropping beautiful red and gold leaves across the whole street.
