I love pictures like this. I've got some beauties of sunflowers - must sort some out and post them.

Just what we need here in England on a cold, grey day. Lovely!

Adorable! I have a white poppy watercolour painting that has been painted by a local, lady artist and it is placed on a main wall above the fireplace in my home. It's fabulous. She once did a lot of red poppy water colour paintings which were painted wet on wet and they were beautiful, but they sold out very quickly and were too expensive for me to buy.
Red poppies of course, are very poingnant at this time, too...

This is beautiful and, as M, says very poignant. I love the tiny splash of yellow from the buttercups too, perhaps, from the Nov 11 point of view, symbolic of hope. It gives me an upligting feeling anyway.

Read 'Rome' and you think of ancient structures... then opening the picture of the poppy field is quite surprising. I adore Italy, so this just adds to the atmosphere. Beautiful photo, Paola!

Everything I see on here is stimulating memories today. This beautiful pic is no exception. Paul Getty once owned a mansion near Guildford in Surrey. The Gardens were occasionally open to the public. I don't remember much about those gardens from my visit many moons ago. What sticks in my mind is the poppy field next door - acres of glorious red.
