Wanted. Floating Duck House

I went to the River Tees to photograph the Barrage on the day the news broke about the floating duck house on an MP's expenses.

[More:]

I found the ideal family for one with vacant possession:

There were seven ducklings all together:

But there was no way I could get them all in one shot:

The small waves were large enough to submerge the ducklings brave enough to dip for the bottom.

Just for company, this moorhen decided to get in on the act.

Great pictures, Bob. Maybe you should start a campaign to get them housed at the taxpayer's expense.

Loved the pictures, Bob. I know what you mean about trying to get all the ducklings in one picture. Last year we saw a duck with seventeen ducklings - far more than we ever recalled seeing before - and she seemed to know I was trying to photograph them as she chivvied them over to the far bank of the canal. I managed one shot with them all in but not sure how to add pictures to the blogs.

Yes, worthy candidates for social housing. And what about all those poor homeless sparrows and field mice and butterflies and ....? As long as they don't start claiming for second homes as well.
Enjoyed the photos.

Sparrows! Homeless! Judging by the noise they make in my eaves they are opportunist squatters.
