There will be bluebirds over!

American blue birds who were a bit camera shy.

[More:]

Despite waiting a long time for a better picture it remained with its back to the camera.

However the northern water snake was more cooperative - first with its head out of the water.

An later as it swam away.

These snakes in my daughter's lake are not venomous. However they don't encourage you to dip your toe into the water.

Now that's a really blue bluebird, isn't it?
I've always been puzzled by the 'bluebirds' in the famous song about 'bluebirds over the cliffs of Dover'. I would guess that the bluest British bird is the kingfisher and you don't see many of those at the seaside.

Love the pics, Bob. Love the deer ones too. And I definitely wouldn't want to come face to face with one of those smakes.
