Moon Boots

As we had 2inches of snow overnight my wife suggested that I should wear her moon boots for my daily walk.

[More:]

They are 24 years old and were bought for my daughter when she went on a skiing trip. Oh, and they are a faded shade of pink!

I took a number of photos while out and here's just a couple in case you don't know what snow is.

I met a chap who was visiting the North East from Bude. He couldn't remember the last time he had seen snow in Cornwall.

What worried me about the walk, apart from my fetching pair of moon boots, was there was enough sun for me to see my shadow. In case you didn't know, today is Groundhog Day. I hope it doesn't mean we have to endure another 6 weeks of the white stuff

Looking back at last year's diary we noted that we had a snowfall this date last year and the next day, both heavier than we have experienced so far this time. That was at a weekend. The following weekend we spent in Wiltshire in brillaint sunshine and have lovely shots of us walking along the Ridgeway. I suspect things may be different this time though.

Lovely photos Bob. At least you have some sunshine. There's a blizzard raging here at the moment!

Sue, don't be deceived by the sunshine - 5 minutes earlier, and later, we had blizzard conditions as well.

Lovely photos, Bob. Here in Belgium we've had a semi-excuse of a snow sprinkling which is likely to switch to an ice-rink overnight. I was hoping for nice crunchy stuff so I could get into the old moonboots that came out of storage!
