ARENA UPDATE

Our programmer is steaming ahead with the Arena modifications!

You're probably aware that the new Arena, although in place for a few weeks, hasn't been fully operational.

The good news is our programmer is almost finished sorting out the remaining problems and all should be up and running in the next few days. However, there could be a few weird things happening with the voting buttons while he gets everything working properly so be warned!

This is a good time to explain how the Arena will work once all the changes are made.

1. Each posting can only be voted on once by an individual.

2. The choices are Getting There, Nearly There & Publishable.

3. Each button will show the number of votes each has received.

4. Three votes to the Publishable button will make the posting appear in the Publishable box in the left hand column.

5. This will entitle the author to claim Super Writer status if he or she is not all ready a Super Writer.

6. You do not have to vote if you do not wish! If you chose not to, you can still comment.

7. You decide whether to allow the public, i.e. non-members to see your postings or not. If you don't wish the public to view your Arena work, ensure you select Protected from the Visibility/Sharing panel when you make your post.

We'll run with this for a short while to see how it works out. Post and test and post comments, suggestions here.

I see it's still going to involve boxes. Am praying they will be bigger than the present ones. I wonder if I'm the only one who can't see things there.

The boxes are just to show how many votes a piece of work has received. They will display under the voting buttons. We can't make them too big otherwise they will infringe on the content and comments.
