TESTING THE ARENA

You may have noticed that we now have an Arena blog. You'll find the link under My Writing Desk. This isn't quite ready to take over from the existing Arena, but it has reached the stage where it needs testing!

[More:]

Could you post a few items, preferably short! Then comment and rate with the new rating system.

Although all three buttons should work. Only the Publish button is actually doing any scoring. When 3 clicks are made to this the piece of work should appear in the left hand column under Top Rated.

The other 2 buttons will eventually record the number of votes made to each.

It would also be a good idea to subscribe to the Arena blog so you get notified of new postings. :D

I have a 600 word opener which could on here, but how do I post to it/ I checked write/edit posts, but Arena is not included in them.

Sue, do the same 'one piece per category per ten days' rules apply?

No the 10 day rule won't apply on the new Arena as the Friends feature should enable members to build up their own circle of reviewers.

Anything posted will remain archived on the site, but members should be able to remove it they wish.

It isn't all functioning properly at the moment as I need to be able to stop members editing other members comments and postings. At the moment I just want to ensure the rating is working as it should. Can you give every piece the publish vote for now!

There is something wrong with the subscribe link which I've notified our programmer on so keep checking that.

I'll take the break off the moderate comments, but at the moment I think you'll find you can moderate all comments on the Arena. Bear with me!

I managed to subscribe, Sue, by using the "subscribe" link from my blog page, and it seems to be working. I'm getting the notifications.

Sue, if I post on the existing blog will it come up on Arena as well and vice versa once someone has subscribed?

Not sure what you mean Bob. All the blogs that make up the blog site are independent. The blog home page acts as an aggregater, but none of the other blogs can do that.

The old site is completely separate from the blog site so anything posted on that Arena will not show up on the blog site or vice versa. Anyone subscribing to the Arena blog will be notified of all postings as will your Friends whenever you post to any of the blogs.
