INTRODUCING WRITELINK CHAT!

Adding a Chat room to the site is something members have been requesting for a long time. It's still a bit rough and ready, but it works and is open 24/7!

[More:]

You can use the chat room to arrange real time chats with members and friends or join in the public Chat's that the site will be organising.

ORGANISING YOUR OWN CHAT:

Use your blog by posting an invitation if you wish to organise a chat and your Friends feature in your Back Office to invite non-members to join in.

You will need to add this code to your posting to enable them to join your Chat:

Good idea :)
but i get
Invalid username or password
though i'm using my writelink username and PW that logs me in to the writers site.

Can you access this from a non java app like pirch or mirc Sue? both are much less prone to crashing the local PC than java chatrooms are.
Thanks

Forget that Sue, I'm in now. It wouldn't let me use my writelink login name, so I just registered as Trevor
Thanks

Should have said that the Chat isn't properly integrated into the site yet so you have to create another Username and password. It can be the same as your existing Writelink one if you like.

Once I see how useful it is I'll see if our programmer can make it use the existing Usernames and passwords! That should be fun!

It has private message window which is good. Looks great Sue. Now I just need someone else to sign up and I can have a chat :)

Had a look, no one there, so I talked to myself for a minute then came out.

Good idea Sue.

Glad there are no glitches so far! It needs someone to take the plunge and organise a chat. If someone would like to volunteer email me sue@writelink.co.uk and I'll post it on Site News.
