A French letter and missing thousands!

Well you'll never believe what a busy time I've had the last few days...and just when I was about to tell you the exciting news Darrel had heard.

[More:]

Of course, my computer stopped working earlier as i was trying to log on earlier this week. I couldn't get onto my blog at all. Darrel said it was something to do with my ASP or something like that. To be honest, I couldn't follow a word he was saying, and our Darrel can talk. I don't know where he gets it from. My sister Margaret is as quiet as a mouse. We're all quiet in our family, so I don't know how Darrel and Belinda got to be such chatterboxes!

Still, it took some time, but our Darrel made a few phone calls and the computer started working properly again this morning. I must say it is so handy have him and Belinda living so close. I don't know how they'd cope if I wasn't so near.

Anyway, I can't believe how much has happened since I last wrote. Apparently, the postman told Darrel that he'd had a letter postmarked from France for Jenny Walters. Well, he'd recognised the handwriting at once, from that that time when her husband Harold had to go away on that week-long business course in Leeds. Of course, he couldn't read what it said inside but apparently his wife was ever so upset when she opened it. Our Belinda's going to go over there tonight, see if Mrs Walters is alright and if there's anything we can do to help. She'll be round here to tell me all about it first thing in the morning, I'm sure.

Now, as you know, I'm not one for gossip, but I've also heard a large amount of money has gone missing from the pub. That Brenda Simpson hasn't turned up either! But the biggest mystery is how much money was taken. They say it was more than ten thousand! Now how would a little country pub make that in one evening, I ask you? No, there's something dodgy going on up there, you mark my words. Special services, or funny things going on in the night, I shouldn't wonder. The police are investigating, of course. But we all know what they'll find.

Oh! What's that noise? I can hear raised voices and shouting in the street. I wonder what's going on? I can't see clearly from here. I'd better go and find out what's happened.
